The Uganda Chess Empowerment Initiative (UCEI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of children and young people across Uganda through the game of chess. We believe that chess is more than a sport,it is a powerful educational tool that develops critical thinking, creativity, discipline, patience, leadership, and confidence.
Our mission is to make chess accessible to every child, regardless of their background, by introducing chess programs in schools and communities, organizing training sessions and tournaments, and providing mentorship that equips young people with skills for lifelong success.
At UCEI, we work closely with schools, parents, volunteers, partners, and supporters to create opportunities that inspire learning, promote inclusion, and nurture talent. We are committed to identifying and supporting promising young chess players while encouraging values such as integrity, teamwork, respect, and excellence.
Through strategic partnerships and community engagement, we aim to build a future where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and lead with confidence.
